Educator & Partner Policies

Educator Terms

These supplemental terms apply to educators who use Knovia to draft, publish, and earn. They sit on top of the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict on an educator-specific topic, these Educator Terms control for that topic.

1. Relationship

You are an independent seller using Knovia as a marketplace and infrastructure platform operated by Bookbloom LLC. You are not an employee, agent, joint venturer, or partner of Bookbloom LLC or Knovia LTD. You have no authority to bind either entity. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship or entitlement to employee benefits.

Buyers pay through Knovia's licensed payment providers. You supply the academic products and services listed under your account. Knovia facilitates discovery, checkout, access delivery, and settlement to your wallet as described in the Payout Policy.

2. Eligibility and Verification

You may explore the dashboard and create drafts subject to Platform rules. Publishing for sale, withdrawing earnings, and certain other commercial actions require identity verification and Starter access (Section 3), as shown in the product experience.

Where enhanced verification is offered, badges may include:

  • Verified Lecturer: tertiary institution staff who complete the applicable employment / affiliation verification path.
  • Verified Educator: independent or credentialled educators who complete the applicable credential verification path (requirements vary by country and programme).

Badge labels and requirements are as displayed on the Platform. Verified signals, where earned, attach to academic brands under your account as described in-product. False identity or credential submissions are grounds for permanent termination.

Educator registration is available in supported countries worldwide, subject to sanctions, AML, and disbursement constraints described in the Terms and Payout Policy. Government-issued ID requirements follow our verification configuration; passport is generally accepted.

3. Starter Access

Starter access is a one-time commercial unlock fee (amount and currency shown on the Platform at payment time). It is required before you go live to publish and earn, except where we expressly waive it. The fee is non-refundable except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

Starter access is not a recurring subscription. Internal systems may use other field names; the educator-facing name is Starter access.

4. Subscription Tiers (Where Offered)

Beyond Starter, Knovia may offer paid educator subscription tiers (for example Growth, Professional, Academy, Enterprise) that unlock additional product types or tools. Availability, prices, and entitlements are as shown on the Platform at the time of purchase.

If a paid subscription lapses, your account typically reverts to Starter capabilities. Product types above your active tier may no longer be creatable; published listings and academic brands generally remain subject to Platform rules. No pro-rated refund is provided for unused subscription time unless required by law or we expressly agree.

5. Academic Brands

An academic brand is your public publishing identity. Each brand may have its own storefront, catalogue, and followers. Unlimited academic brands may be available subject to Platform rules. Renaming a brand in settings does not automatically rewrite historical listing attributions; reassignment, where offered, is done per listing.

6. Product Types

You may create product types your account is permitted to offer. Depending on launch configuration and tier, that can include academic materials and books, revision drops, bundles, practice assessments, review services, live study sessions, tutoring, and other types we enable. Deferred or unavailable types are not offered until we turn them on.

All listings must comply with the Content Guidelines and the academic-integrity rules in the Terms. You warrant that you have the rights to distribute each listing and that it does not facilitate examination fraud or other academic misconduct.

Institution names and course labels are descriptive references only. Unless expressly agreed in writing, you and Knovia are not affiliated with or endorsed by any institution merely because a name appears on a listing.

7. Pricing and Currency

You set prices in your designated currency within the Platform's published price band for that currency. Buyers may see and pay in a presentment currency under Platform conversion rules. Manual per-currency overrides may be available where enabled. Promotional discounts, where applied, generally reduce the sale amount on which your earnings are calculated.

8. Transaction Fees

Knovia charges a platform transaction fee on sales. Indicative standard rates (subject to change with notice under the Terms; the amounts and currencies shown on the Platform at listing / checkout are authoritative) are:

  • Local-currency sales: typically 7.5% plus any local fixed fee shown on the Platform
  • International sales: typically 10% plus any currency-specific fixed fee shown (for example amounts on the order of $0.50 / £0.50 / €0.50 where applicable)

Rates are generally flat across product types. Enterprise or other negotiated arrangements may apply where expressly agreed. Optional fee pass-through to buyers may be available as configured on the Platform.

Collection costs charged by payment providers are generally absorbed within Knovia's commercial model as disclosed to you. Withdrawal fees on payouts are separate and are charged as described in the Payout Policy.

9. Payments, Refunds, and Chargebacks

Buyers pay Knovia through licensed payment providers. You authorise us to process sales, refunds, chargebacks, and related adjustments, and to share identity and compliance information with those providers as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and for delivering the products and services you sell. If a sale is refunded or charged back — including because of non-delivery, misrepresentation, fraud, or an upheld quality dispute — we may reverse related earnings and recover the amount, provider fees, and reasonable related costs from your pending balance, wallet, or future earnings. If your balance is insufficient, we may invoice you for the shortfall.

We may contest improper buyer disputes using delivery and account records. Refund and cancellation rules are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

10. Marketplace Enrollment

Marketplace-eligible products generally appear in marketplace discovery by default when published. Where your tier and launch configuration allow, you may limit discovery (for example storefront / direct-link only) while a listing remains published. Some product types (for example Academic Review Service) may be storefront / direct-link only by design. Unpublishing removes the listing from sale; prior buyers keep access to what they already purchased, subject to the Terms and enforcement actions.

11. Ambassador and Referral Enrollment

Where enabled, you may enroll products for ambassador promotion and set a commission rate paid from your earnings. Knovia's transaction fee is not reduced by that commission unless we expressly state otherwise. See the Ambassador Terms.

Where the educator-recruitment programme is offered, commissions are paid from Knovia's share for a defined period and do not reduce the recruited educator's earnings rate.

12. Payouts

Confirmed earnings settle to your Knovia wallet and are withdrawn under the Payout Policy, including settlement timing, service delivery holds, any new-account or compliance holds we apply, minimums, and withdrawal fees. Open clawbacks or investigations may block withdrawals.

13. Tax Responsibility

You are solely responsible for declaring earnings and paying taxes, VAT, sales tax, or similar obligations in your jurisdiction. Bookbloom LLC / Knovia does not withhold, calculate, or remit those amounts for you unless required by law. Earnings reports may be available from your dashboard to support your filings.

14. Content Ownership and Licence

You retain ownership of your original content. You grant Bookbloom LLC the licence described in the Terms of Service to operate the marketplace and fulfil buyer orders. That licence is non-exclusive; you may offer the same content elsewhere, subject to your other contracts and these Terms.

15. Content Removal

You may unpublish products subject to Platform tools and rules. Unpublishing takes a listing off sale (discovery and buy CTAs). Existing buyers retain access to content already purchased, except where removal is required for legal or enforcement reasons. Soft discovery controls (where offered) are separate from full unpublish.

16. Earnings on Account Termination

For lower-tier enforcement actions, confirmed earnings are generally still paid subject to holds, clawbacks, and chargebacks. For permanent ban (Tier 4), earnings may be held for up to about 90 days. If an eligible appeal is upheld, remaining balance is released subject to lawful offsets. If no successful appeal is completed within the hold period, remaining balance may be forfeited as stated in the enforcement notice and Terms.

17. Anonymous Mode

Where enabled, Anonymous Mode suppresses your institution name on public surfaces. Academic brand and category visibility are not removed by Anonymous Mode alone. Verified badges may still show per product rules. Internal admin and compliance records are unaffected. Per-listing institution visibility controls may also apply.

18. Institutional Non-Disclosure

We will not disclose your identity or whether you hold an account to academic institutions, employers, or third parties in response to informal requests. Disclosure may occur under court order, binding legal process, or as needed for payments, fraud prevention, enforcement, or safety, as described in the Privacy Policy and Terms. You remain responsible for your own employment or institutional obligations.

19. Educator Conduct

In addition to the Acceptable Use rules in the Terms, you must not:

  • Solicit buyers to pay outside Knovia to avoid fees after using the Platform to find them
  • Misrepresent credentials, affiliation, or listing metadata
  • Manipulate reviews, rankings, or referral programmes
  • Use the Platform to facilitate academic fraud or prohibited content

20. Governing Law

These Educator Terms are governed by the same governing-law and dispute provisions as the Terms of Service (including New Mexico, USA law, arbitration terms, and non-waivable NDPA / EU/UK rights where they apply).
